Qixi Festival: China's Romantic Festival

Do you want to know about China's most popular romantic festival? The Qixi Festival, often referred to as "the Chinese Valentine's Day", is a festival full of love and rich in traditions. It is celebrated on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month (approximately August in the Gregorian calendar) every year, and its related legends have been passed down for over 2,000 years.

The charm of the Qixi Festival stems from the story of the Cowherd and the Weaver girl. The kind Cowherd fell in love with and married the Weaver girl from the heavens, and they had two children together. However, the Queen Mother opposed the love between a human and a fairy, using the Milky Way to separate them. The Magpies were moved by their deep affection and built a "Magpie Bridge". Eventually, the Queen Mother allowed them to meet every year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. Nowadays, people still look up at the stars on the Qixi Festival night, searching for the Altar Star representing the Cowherd and the Weaver girl Star representing the Weaving Maid.

Nowadays, the Qixi Festival combines tradition with novelty:

Couples exchange gifts such as flowers and letters to express their love

People go out to watch the stars and make beautiful wishes

Some people still keep the traditional customs, such as placing fruits and pastries under the moon to commemorate Weaver girl.

On this QIXI Festival, Rongyou Steel extends its sincere greetings to all. Love is the bond that connects us, whether it's family love, friendship or romantic love. May this special day bring you joy and warmth, and may there always be love by your side.
